Injecting plastic parts - fault diagnosis and problem solving
When injecting plastic parts and components, it's inevitable to get faults, defects and issues. You must have a robust, stable, controlled process to prevent this as much as possible.

If any injected part has been previously produced satisfactorily and it now goes wrong, something has changed. The main principle is never to change conditions immediately. The cause / reason should be identified and rectified.

Never adjust one condition to compensate for a failure or change in another condition.

For example, if melt temperature has increased, don’t reduce speeds or pressures or mold temperature to compensate. Identify the problem, that is to say reduce melt temperature, check and replacing thermocouples, etc. in order to get melt temperature back to intended.

Ask yourself questions:

•   what has changed ?
•   what is the fault ?
•   when did it start ?
•   how often does it occur ?
•   where in the part is the fault ?
•   is the fault randomly situated ..
•   .. or always in same place ?
•   etc...

Identify causes of defects:

•   test, observe, conclude
•   study 'history of faults'
•   injection, speeds, temperatures: test
•   machine, heating, mold: check
•   ....

Problem solver:

Now we'll use some method and help you solve the most common problems and issues that might show up when injecting plastic parts. Some are due to the process itself, but some come from mold issues and even from as early as part design and project!

FREE software? Yes, it is!
story image Everything on the freeware webpage has always been FREE and it will be kept like this. A few of the less useful programs have been removed and I will re-start the keeping of the remaining, most downloaded ones, now that I am retired and have plenty of time on my hands!

I know many people still use my free utilities and have been doing so for a couple decades now and that makes me fell happy, knowing something useful came out of this, after all.

If you want to help support this freeware page and if you enjoy using the freeware available and want to see it get improved, as it has been often, just go to the donations page and.. well, you know what it is for... smile

Mind you, donations are, of course, always appreciated but never, ever required, all software is and will always be free for everyone!

There is a very nice article, by the way, that you can check regarding FREE software and what most people usually think - not correctly - it is.

And, of course, keep sending me feedback on all the programs, your suggestions and opinions, what you would like to see modified or improved - and a few donations to help keep all this going - as hearing from you is what really helps me keep motivated to further develop those utility programs making them better for everyone.

Yeahh for the New year - again
And just because the image is a beauty, let me post it while wishing a good New year to all of you - again - from the heart!
Happy New Year
May it bring all the good that we wish for... and then some!

And a good and happy new year to all
And has 2025 comes to an end, let me wish you all a good and happy New Year of 2026. Hope this New Year brings a little more clarity regarding everything happening across the world, less wars and violence and may people finally understand that we won't be here forever so.... why so much greed and materialism when everything will be left behind? I know, I know.. Not the most positive words but I guess that's what we get! sad

Anyway, wishing you all - again - a good New Year of 2026 in good health, peace, love and, at least, with the company of all that are dear to your hearts.
Happy New Year
Hope there's still someone reading this and - hopefully - using my little freeware utilities.. But a quarter century has already gone by since I started programming those and making all available to everyone so... Time flies too fast! smile

with kind regards, Jose Falcao

and may we get what we need.
But may we never get what we deserve".

What is Plastic ?
Plastic is a versatile, moldable material made from synthetic or natural polymers (long chains of molecules) derived mainly from crude oil, gas, or biomass, known for being lightweight, durable, and cheap, used in countless products but posing significant environmental challenges due to slow decomposition and waste accumulation, especially in oceans.

Key Characteristics & Properties

  • Moldable (Plasticity): The word "plastic" comes from Greek/Latin for "fit for molding," allowing shaping via heat and pressure.

  • Lightweight & Durable: Strong, long-lasting, and low density, reducing transport costs and making them hard-wearing.

  • Versatile: Can be transparent, opaque, flexible, rigid, or insulators (heat/electricity).

  • Chemically Resistant: Offers protection against damage from many chemicals.

Composition & Production

  • Polymers: Plastics are large molecules (polymers) formed by linking smaller units (monomers).

  • Raw Materials: Primarily from petroleum (via naphtha), but also natural gas, coal, salt, cellulose, and renewable sources.

  • Manufacturing: Involves processes like polymerization or polycondensation to link monomers into chains.

Uses & Environmental Impact

  • Widespread Use: From packaging and bottles to space rockets, due to low cost and versatility.

  • Environmental Concern: Most plastics don't biodegrade easily (lasting centuries), leading to significant pollution in oceans and landfills, harming wildlife.

  • Recycling: A small percentage is recycled, highlighting the need for better waste management and circular economy solutions.

Gary Moore ~ the master playing live Blues
Robert William Gary Moore (4 April 1952 ~ 6 February 2011) was a Irish musician, born in Belfast. Over the course of his career, he played in various groups and performed a range of music including blues, blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal and jazz fusion.

Influenced by Peter Green and Eric Clapton, Gary Moore began his career in the late 1960s when he joined Skid Row, with whom he released two albums. After Moore left the group, he joined Thin Lizzy, featuring his former Skid Row bandmate and friend Phil Lynott.

Gary Moore began his solo career in the 1970s and achieved major success with 1979's "Parisienne Walkways", which is considered his signature song. In 1990, he returned to his roots with "Still Got the Blues", which became the most successful album of his career. Moore continued to release new music throughout his later career, collaborating with other artists from time to time.

He died on 6 February 2011 from a heart attack while on holiday in Spain.

Moore has been described as a virtuoso by numerous publications. Don Airey described him as a genius, while guitarist Bernie Marsden said that "Gary could play literally any style".

source and more info at: Wikipedia ~ Gary Moore

He was one of the worlds best, a self-taught guitar player. I'm adding bellow part of one of his concerts, with all greatest guitar solos and what I consider to be one of his - many - great moments, when soloing with the great, late B.B. King! May they both R.I.P...
